[:it]Il team di Sicily&Sicilians sta per andare in vacanza, ma prima di salutarvi per una breve pausa, vi lasciamo un digest con varie mostre d’arte che sono in corso durante queste ultime settimane d’estate in Sicilia!
Presso l’ex Chiesa del Carmine di Taormina si svolge fino al 20 agosto la mostra Saligia dell’artista Andrea Chisesi. L’esposizione, il cui nome rappresenta l’acronimo 7 vizi capitali, racconta attraverso 36 opere, quanto sia complessa e connotata la percezione della debolezza umana nel sentire comune.
E’ visitabile, fino al 25 Agosto presso il Palazzo Comunale di Terrasini (PA), la mostra di vignette di Vauro e Pino Manzella: le vignette del primo sono presenti all’interno del libro “Oltre i Cento Passi” di Giovanni Impastato, mentre quelle del secondo sono tratte dalla mostra intitolata “Ciao Peppì ed altre irriverenze…”. Questa mostra è pensata in continuità con le lotte di Peppino Impastato che ha usato l’ironia e la satira per sbeffeggiare i potenti con il fine di cambiare l’esistente.
Novecento Italiano. Una storia.
è un’esposizione che ripercorre l’arte italiana del XX secolo attraverso almeno 15 movimenti artistici differenti. Troverete sessanta quadri e otto sculture di quarantaquattro autori che possono, a ragione, essere considerati i manifesti delle loro correnti di riferimento. La mostra si svolge a Palazzo Reale a Palermo fino al 31 agosto.
A Palermo dal 7 luglio al 10 settembre trovate alla ZAC la prima grande antologica di Thomas Lange, pittore tedesco che mediante la sua pittura vuole condurre un’intensa indagine sul significato delle immagini e sull’atto stesso del dipingere.
Il Museo Archeologico Antonio Salinas presenta dal 30 giugno al 10 Settembre Viaggio in Sicilia. Mappe e miti del Mediterraneo. Saranno in mostra le opere inedite di sei artisti, italiani e stranieri, consolidando la vocazione attuale del museo di apertura verso linguaggi sempre più orientati alla contemporaneità per riscoprire con occhi diversi l’arte del passato.
In mostra al Museo Riso si tiene fino al 10 settembre la prima personale di Micol Assaël, una delle voci più originali dell’arte internazionale, con presenze nelle più importanti biennali e in numerosi musei tra cui il Palais de Tokyo di Parigi e la Kunsthalle di Basilea. La linea concettuale dell’esibizione è l’onda, che congiunge le nostre intenzioni agli stati fisici della materia.
A Catania presso il Palazzo Platamone fino al 17 settembre trovate ancora la mostra dedicata a Escher. Il grafico fiammingo riteneva la Sicilia una regione affascinante nell’architettura e nei tratti del paesaggio ed è qui che sviluppò buona parte di quelle idee e suggestioni che caratterizzano la sua matura produzione artistica con gli studi sulle forme che lo hanno reso celebre.
Spostandoci nell’agrigentino, fino al 24 settembre lo scultore Daniele Franzella espone le sue ultime produzioni, ancora inedite in Italia, in un’unica grande composizione narrativa presso le Fabbriche Chiaramontane. In mostra non solo sculture di grandi dimensioni ma anche installazioni sonore, opere grafiche, fotografie.
Presso l’Oratorio dei Bianchi a Palermo fino al primo ottobre, si terrà una mostra con protagonista principale Giacomo Serpotta, scultore e decoratore italiano vissuto tra il ‘600 ed il ‘700 che si distinse per l’arte dello stucco. Oltre ai suoi lavori, saranno esposti anche quelli di alcuni suoi contemporanei per celebrare lo straordinario connubio tra le arti e e le raffinate maestranze della capitale siciliana di quel periodo.
Lo scultore Giuseppe Agnello è in mostra con “Dalle dure pietre” presso il Palazzo dei Giganti e il Parco Archeologico della Valle dei Templi (AG) fino al 30 ottobre. Questa esposizione rappresenta un inno alla natura che l’artista ha realizzato, partendo da elementi semplici come fiori, boccioli e semi indagando la forma propria degli elementi usando come materiale predominante il gesso.
Steve McCurry Icons – è una mostra che raccoglie in oltre 100 scatti la vasta produzione del famoso fotografo, per proporre ai visitatori un viaggio simbolico nell’universo di esperienze e di emozioni che caratterizzano le sue immagini. L’esposizione si tiene a Siracusa presso l’Ex Convento San Francesco d’Assisi fino al 5 novembre.

At the former Carmine Church in Taormina, until the 20th August, the exhibition Saligia of the artist Andrea Chisesi takes place. The exhibition, whose name represents the acronym of 7 capital vices, tells through 36 works, how complex and connotated is the perception of human weakness in the common sense.
The exhibition of cartoons of Vauro and Pino Manzella can be visited until 25th August at the Palazzo Comunale of Terrasini (PA). The cartoons of the first artist are in the book “Oltre i 100 passi” by Giovanni Impastato, while those of the second are taken from the exhibition entitled “Ciao Peppi e altre irriverenze…”. This exhibition is thought in continuity with the fights of Peppino Impastato, who used the irony and satire to fight the powerful with the intention of changing the existing one.
Novecento Italiano. Una storia. is an exhibition that retraces Italian art from the 20th century through at least 15 different artistic movements. You will find sixty paintings and eight sculptures of forty-four authors who can, of course, be considered the representatives of their periods. The exhibition takes place at Palazzo Reale in Palermo until 31st August.
In Palermo from July 7th to September 10th, ZAC presents the first anthology of Thomas Lange, a German painter who intends to carry out intense research through his painting into the meaning of the images and the act of painting.
The Archaeological Museum Antonio Salinas presents until September 10th “Viaggio in Sicilia. Mappe e miti del Mediterraneo”. The unpublished works of six Italian and foreign artists will be exhibited, consolidating the current vocation of the museum to open more towards contemporary-oriented languages to rediscover the art of the past with different eyes.
The Museo del Riso hosts until September 10th the first personal exhibition of Micol Assaël, one of the most original voices of international art, with appearances in the most important biennials and numerous museums including the Palais de Tokyo in Paris and the Kunsthalle of Basel. The conceptual line of the show is the wave, which connects our intentions to the physical states of matter.
In Catania at Palazzo Platamone until September 17th there is the exhibition dedicated to Escher. The artist thought of Sicily as a fascinating region in architecture and landscape and it is here that he has developed much of those ideas and suggestions that characterize its mature artistic production with studies on shapes that have made it famous.
Moving to Agrigento, until September 24th sculptor Daniele Franzella exhibits his latest productions, still unpublished in Italy, in a single great narrative composition at the Fabbriche Chiaramontane. It shows not only large sculptures but also sound installations, graphic works, and photographs.
At the Oratorio dei Bianchi in Palermo until the first of October, an exhibition with main character Giacomo Serpotta, Italian sculptor and decorator alive between the 16th and 17th century, stands out for the art of stucco. In addition to his works, some of his contemporaries’ ones will also be exhibited to celebrate the extraordinary union between the arts and the sophisticated work of the Sicilian capital of that time.
The sculptor Giuseppe Agnello is exhibiting with “Dalle dure pietre” at the Palazzo dei Giganti and at the Parco Archeologico Valle dei Tempi until October 30th. This exhibition is a hymn to the nature, starting from simple elements such as flowers, buds and seeds, investigating the proper shape of the elements using as the plaster predominant material.
Steve McCurry Icons – is an exhibition that collects in over 100 shots the vast production of the famous photographer, to offer visitors a symbolic journey into a world of experiences and emotions that characterize his imagery. The exhibition is held in Syracuse at the former Convent of Saint Francis of Assisi until November 5th.
